Joker Movie Review

     

Joker is Akshay Kumar’s 100th film. Akshay Kumar has been among the most successful Bollywood actors in last 2-3 years. This year release of Akshay Kumar ‘Housefull 2′ and ‘Rowdy Rathore’ have earned more than Rs 100 crore. After ‘Rowdy Rathore’, Sonakshi Sinha will once again be seen with Akshay Kumar in Joker.

STORY:

A NASA scientist of Indian origin, Agastya [Akshay Kumar] and his friend [Sonakshi Sinha], find themselves on the road to Paglapur. ‘Paglapur’, is apparently a small village which has lost its identity from the face of the earth. While the world outside changed, Paglapur remained isolated, with no electricity, water, television or sanity.

When nobody is ready to solve the problem, Akshay Kumar creates a hoax by involving aliens in order to attract attention to the village’s problems. The film is surely a laugh riot that provides you with no logic.

When nothing works, he devises a plan and spreads rumours that aliens visit the village. And that gets the attention of everyone from the media, ministers and scientists to the US President. The neglected village turns live and happening place overnight.

PERFORMANCE:

Akshay Kumar is the perfect choice for the role of Agastya. His character grabs our attention the minute he comes on screen.

Sonakshi, as usual is just there for the ornamental purpose. Her role in the movie is limited to dancing in songs.

Shreyas speaks gibberish in some ‘alien’ language. Her gibberish becomes unbearable by the end.

Minissha Lamba lacks screen presence.

Asrani and other supporting cast make sure that things get from worse to worst.

Editing is neat and cinematography is rich.

Art direction is clumsy.

Songs are not bad but item song in such a film was not required at all though Chitrangada does look good in song.

Shirish Kunder succeeds as writer of the story but its translation into screenplay is far from satisfactory. Screenplay is more of wayward than anything else. It seems that director fails to decide what he is aiming for – entertainment, satire, hard core comedy or sci-fi adventure.

COMMENTS:

The fundamental flaw of the film is that the moment where you feel there’s something actually happening in the story, the film ends.

Like a joker, the film makes a complete fool of itself. However it fails to make you laugh.

The Teacher’s Day is celebrated across the world but on different dates. In China, the day is observed on September 10, 5 October is marked for the teacher’s in Russia, in Iran, teacher’s day is celebrated on May 2, November 24 in Turkey and May 16 is dedicated to teachers in Malaysia.

A teacher is just like a candle that burns itself to light the surroundings. For students, Teacher’s Day is an occasion to pay respect and gratitude to the teachers for their selfless efforts made for them to shape up their career. 1. Present a bouquet, a mug holding nice quotation to your favourite teacher.
2. Decorate staff room with flowers and balloons.
3. Shower flowers when he or she enters in the classroom.

Several schools observe Teacher’s Day with full excitement and fervor. Special programmes are organized by the students on this occasion.
